12/10/12 Prof Koji Shiono, Prof Jim Chandler, Dr Rene Wackrow A three-year research assistant post is available at Loughborough University, UK, to examine turbulent flows caused by riparian vegetation. The post involves a series of laboratory experiments involving measuring riparian vegetation drag force, turbulence, bed friction, and water surface variation with a new measuring drag device, Acoustic Doppler Velocimetry (ADV), a pitot tube, a Preston tube, a 3-D terrestrial laser scanner, and close range digital photogrammetry.
